Flourish Church opened in 2023 with a dream of reaching all of Northwest Indiana with the life-giving message of Jesus Christ.

Our outreach involves building meaningful relationships, offering mentorship opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship, and supporting homeownership.
Our strategy is to make an impact one city block at a time:
- To Learn: Before implementing an outreach plan, we need to know what needs or desires a city may have.
- To Love: Our congregation has an opportunity to love in ways the community has explicitly expressed.
- To Liberate: We want to teach people how to own the pond by liberating them through discipleship.

Meet our pastor
Reverend Dr. Dexter Harris has been the Senior Pastor at Flourish Church since 2023, providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and outreach for a multi-ethnic congregation. He and his wife, Paige, have been married for 18 years and have 3 children (Kyla, De’Kai and Lila).
In addition to his role as Senior Pastor, Pastor Harris is a committed mentor and advocate for sustainable change and has dedicated his life to empowering youth, strengthening families, and building collaborative partnerships throughout Gary.
As Executive Director of the Flourish Community Hub in Gary, he leads strategic planning, fundraising, and partnership-building to deliver holistic social services and drive community-focused initiatives.
Pastor Harris recently completed his doctorate in community redevelopment, furthering his commitment to transformative leadership and community engagement. He is also a local business owner in Gary, operating DKX Flooring since 2008 and recently opening Paige and Charlie’s restaurant with his wife, Paige.
